Keto Peanut Butter Mousse Recipe - easy low carb sugar free 3 ingredient dessert

If you’re a peanut butter lover (like me) then you’ll love this creamy mousse that will satisfy your sweet tooth while helping you meet your macros for the day thanks to the healthy fat and protein content.

Spoon of creamy low carb mousse

To make the mousse, you simply whip the cream in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer until starting to thicken, then add in peanut butter and stevia and whisk until you have a creamy, thickened mousse.

You can actually enjoy the mousse straight away or pop it in the fridge to further thicken, then enjoy. You can spoon the mousse into a piping bag and pipe pretty rounds of the simple keto treat into individual serving cups.

The 3 Ingredients You’ll Need

3 Ingredients

Here are the simple ingredients that you’ll need for the creamy peanut butter mousse:

Cream – you can use heavy cream, double cream, heavy whipping cream or even coconut cream in the recipe.

Adding peanut butter to the easy keto mousse

Stevia – for your sweet cravings you can use powdered stevia, liquid stevia or your favorite low carb sweeteners of choice that you usually enjoy in low carb desserts.

Flavor Options

Flavor options

Here are some ideas to flavor the versatile recipe with keto diet approved ingredients:

Chocolate – make it a chocolate mousse or chocolate peanut butter mousse that’s inspired by flavors of peanut butter cups by incorporating a spoon or two of cocoa powder or folding through sugar-free chocolate chips such at lily’s chocolate chips.

Room Temperature Cream Cheese – make a peanut butter cheesecake mousse by whisking a few spoons of cream cheese in with the peanut butter.

Vanilla Extract or Salt – adding in a half a teaspoon of vanilla or a pinch of salt will enhance the flavors of the delicious keto treat.

Keto Garlic Bread Recipe

August 31, 2021 by Easy Keto Living

Keto Garlic Bread Recipe – How to make the best easy low carb homemade garlic cheese bread with 0.6g net carbs – with almond flour and mozzarella – without yeast or cream cheese.

Keto Garlic Bread Recipe - How to make easy low carb homemade garlic cheese bread

Keto Garlic Bread Recipe

This Keto Garlic Bread Recipe is quick and simple to prepare, low in net carbs (at just 0.6g per slice) but tastes WAY better than any carb full garlic bread out there.

I’ve been making the keto cheese bread recipe weekly lately whenever I roast a chicken to enjoy as a cheesy side that perfectly complements and completes the main dish.

If you’re new to keto, then this recipe will be an absolute life saver for you – helping you enjoy all the flavors of garlic bread or a garlic pizza in a low carb friendly approved way that tastes just like the real thing. (Or maybe even better!)

Low Carb Garlic Bread Ingredients

Keto ingredients

Here are the main ingredients that you’ll need to make these cheesy garlic bread.

As you’ll see in the recipe card down below, they are all simple ingredients that you’re likely to already have in your kitchen, so can conveniently create a batch of this delicious keto garlic bread to enjoy as the perfect side dish with any meal.

Grated Cheese – you can go for mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese or really any gooey cheese that you’d like. You can use already grated cheese or grate the cheese yourself to make the keto dough.

Just be sure to check when buying ready grated cheese that there are no hidden carbs which are often added to prevent the grated cheese from sticking together in the package.

Clove garlic

Garlic – you can use fresh garlic cloves or garlic powder, depending on your personal preference and the garlic flavor you’re after.

I’ve suggested 2 to 4 garlic cloves in the recipe, you could always use more or can swap to a half to a teaspoon of powder instead.

Oregano – a generous pinch of ground oregano is the perfect herb addition in this recipe.

Almond Flour – I’ve used almond flour to bind the easy keto garlic bread together.

If you’d like to use coconut flour instead, use 1 to 2 tablespoons, until you reach the perfect bread batter consistency.

1 Egg – I’ve used a large egg in this recipe, if your egg is smaller, you may need to add a second to help bind the ingredients together, or you could add a few tablespoons of melted butter if the batter is too dry.

Optional Extra Ingredients

Sliced low carb garlic bread

Here are some ideas for more ingredients that you can include in your keto bread recipe that are all low in grams of net carbs:

Marinara Sauce – you can spread a tablespoon or so of marinara sauce over the top of the bread and then sprinkle over a little more grated cheese.

Another option is to pour a little marinara sauce into a bowl and enjoy it as a keto diet friendly dipping sauce for the garlic bread.

Dipping sauce and ideas for herbs

Italian Seasoning, Chives or Parsley – you can swap the oregano for Italian Seasoning, Chives, Fresh Parsley or your herb of choice for a mixed herb healthy garlic bread recipe.

Salt & Pepper – I find that the strong flavors of cheese, garlic and oregano don’t need the addition of salt and pepper, but you can feel free to add a pinch or two of either if you want.

Cream Cheese –  add in 1-2 tablespoons of cream cheese for a creamier bread that’s more like fathead dough, that’s also low in g net carbs.

This low carb garlic bread recipe can also be used as a pizza crust and topped with your keto friendly toppings of choice such as cooked mushrooms, perpperoni, salami, tomato, goats cheese or even leftover roast chicken or meat.

How to make low carb keto friendly garlic cheese bread

  3. Peel and grate the garlic cloves into the mixing bowl, then add in the oregano, almond flour and egg to the mozzarella dough.
  4. Stir well to combine then move the almond flour dough to the prepared baking tray and spoon mixture into a large square, circle or oval shape.

Keto Basque Cheesecake Recipe

Keto Basque Cheesecake Recipe – Easy Low Carb & Sugar Free Spanish Inspired Burnt Cake Dessert With Coconut Flour – With the video tutorial.

Keto Basque Cheesecake Recipe - Easy Low Carb Spanish Inspired Burnt Cake Dessert With Coconut Flour

Keto Basque Cheesecake

This Keto Basque Cheesecake Recipe is a creamy low carb friendly cheesecake that has only 7 ingredients and comes together like a dream.

I’ve adapted a classic Spanish Basque Burnt Cheesecake to be keto friendly, simply by swapping the sugar for stevia and flour for coconut flour.

Since only a tablespoon of flour is needed for the recipe, the cake is virtually identical to it’s carby counterpart but will help you stay on track and meet your macros.

How to make low carb cheesecake

The keto basque burnt cheesecake truly is foolproof – the ingredients are simply whisked together in a large mixing bowl and then baked until the cheesecake has a rustic appearance – a golden, burnt top but is still creamy and jiggly beneath.

You’ll find that you’ll achieve the best results by using room temperature ingredients and ensuring that the baking paper overlaps the sides of the cake pan. You may even have to use a couple of sheets of parchment paper to sufficiently ovelap the sides, because the best keto cheesecake rises up during the baking process.

I’ve given the keto burnt cheesecake a hint of vanilla flavor, but you can feel free to create a lemon flavored cheesecake instead by whisking through lemon zest and lemon juice instead.

You can scatter fresh berries, whipping cream, or your ketogenic diet friendly toppings of choice, over the top of the crustless cheesecake. (Here are more easy keto cream cheese desserts.)

Easy Basque Burnt Cheesecake Recipe - low carb keto

Keto Basque Cheesecake Recipe

  • 600g/21 ounces of Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1/2 Cup Stevia or your sweetener of choice
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Flour
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F/200C, get out a round springform pan and line it with well greased baking parchment paper that overlaps the sides well.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the softened cream cheese and stevia with an electric mixer, until smooth.
  3. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and whisk until creamy.
  4. Pour in the cream, shake over the salt and add the vanilla then whisk until fully combined.
  5. Remove the whisk, add the coconut flour and fold in until completely mixed through.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared baking tin and move to the preheated oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until golden and burnt looking on top but still wobbly beneath.
  7. Remove the cheesecake from the oven, allow to cool completely and then carefully remove from the baking tin to a plate.
  8. Serve slightly warm or move the cake to the fridge and serve chilled.

The low carb keto cheesecake recipe makes a popular keto dessert that tastes like the real thing, yet is naturally low in net carbs.

Are Raisins Keto

August 21, 2021 by Easy Keto Living

Are Raisins Keto Friendly? Grams of carbs and whether you can include raisins or sultanas in a low carb ketogenic diet and a list of other healthy options to choose from.

Are Raisins Keto Friendly Grams of carbs and whether you can include raisins or sultanas in a low carb ketogenic diet

Are Raisins Keto Friendly?

In this post I’ll cover are raisins keto friendly, their carb content and options for alternatives to high carb foods such as raisins or sultanas.

If you’re following a low-carbohydrate diet like the ketogenic diet, then you’ll probably want to be keeping your daily net carb intake to 15g to 30g in total, depending on your own personal goals. (Such as weight loss or to address a health concern.)

So, it’s important to keep that in mind when assessing whether a food is or isn’t keto friendly.

How Many Carbs In Raisins?

How many net carbs in raisins and sultanas

A 100g portion of raisins have a whopping 79 grams of carbohydrates while a small portion or one of those tiny boxes of about 1/2 an ounce or 14g serving size of raisins has the following nutritional value:

  • Calories – 42
  • Fat – 0g
  • Total Carbohydrates – 11g
  • Grams of fiber – 0.6g
  • Grams of net carbohydrates – 10.4
  • Sugars – 9.1g
  • Protein – 0.5g

So, the 14 grams of raisins or 0.5 ounce handful of raisins has 10.4 grams of net carbs. (Net carbs is calculated by subtracting dietary fiber from total carbs)

Can You Have Raisins On Keto?

Can you have raisins on a low carb keto diet

So, now that you know the carb content and how much sugar in raisins, the question of whether you can actually have raisins on keto diet plans leans more towards no than yes due to the high sugar and high carb counts.

While the sugars in raisins are natural sugars, they are still significantly high in its number of carbohydrates for such a small, bite sized food making your blood sugar levels harder to manage, regardless of portion size.

The only way I could see you including raisins or sultanas in your daily strict keto diet would be in very small amounts, probably a half to a quarter of the portion outlined above.

When I’m following keto strictly I tend to avoid raisins due to the high grams of total carbs, as I find it’s not the best choice for how to allocate my regular carbohydrate allowance.

You may also discover that raisins often contain a number of food additives and not so keto friendly artificial vegetable oils that are not a great choice to be included in a healthy diet.

Better Options

Other Options Of Low Carb Keto Friendly Snacks

Here are some ideas for keto-friendly alternatives that provide better options that you can enjoy in greater quantities.

If you’re wanting to snack on a hand full of raisins of sultanas, here are some ideas for keto-friendly foods that require no prep that you can grab for instead:

Nuts – almonds, cashews, macadamia nuts, walnuts, pecan nuts, peanut butter or any other nut is low in carbs and high in fiber and healthy fats.

Seeds – pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds or chia seeds provide a good source of high fat content perfect for a low carb diet.

Chocolate Snack

Chocolate – satisfy your sweet tooth with a row of 90% Lindt or hand full of sugar free chocolate chips that include artificial sweeteners, as a chocolate alternative to an otherwise high carb content treat.

Celery – for a quick crunchy snack, opt for a stick of celery.

Avocado and Cucumber

Cucumber – a refreshing, virtually no carb snack idea.

Avocado – for a creamy, low carb, high fat and high fiber snack.

Keto Friendly Fruit Options

Mousse with strawberries

While raisins have a high carb count, you’ll find that fresh, frozen or even dried fruit such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, that happen to be rich in vitamin C and provide various health benefits, are permitted on a low-carb diet.

Plus without eating too much low-carb fruit, berries will help keep your carbohydrate intake to an acceptable daily limit to keep you in a state of ketosis. Perfect for the ketogenic approach to eating. (Just avoid processed fruit juice which are much too high in grams of sugar and will likely blow out your daily carb limit.)

You can enjoy a small portion to snack on or incorporate berries into a smoothie or keto dessert. (Like the above pictured low carb strawberry mousse.)

Only an egg white is needed for this recipe, you can save the yolk and whisk it into scrambled eggs or an omelette, so nothing goes to waste.

Stevia is my sweetener of choice, but feel free to use whatever sugar alternative you usually use in recipes, and add in more if you’d prefer a sweeter snack.

Keto Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe – How To Make Easy Homemade 4 Ingredient Low Carb & Sugar Free No Churn Iced Treat Dessert Without An Ice Cream Maker – with the video tutorial.

Keto Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe - How To Make Easy Homemade 4 Ingredient Low Carb & Sugar Free No Churn

Keto Vanilla Ice Cream

This Keto Vanilla Ice Cream is really easy to prepare, it’s no churn so you don’t even need an ice cream maker to be enjoying indulgent homemade low carb ice cream.

Here are the four ingredients you’ll need for this no bake low carb dessert:

Eggs – you’ll need to separate eggs for this recipe and you’ll be consuming them raw, so make sure they are super fresh and don’t serve to anyone who’s pregnant or has a weakened immune system.

On the plus side, this recipe uses both the whites and the yolks, so nothing goes to waste. (You may find that other ice cream recipes only use the yolks and leave you with an over supply of egg whites.)

Mixing ingredients together

Stevia – you can use stevia as I have, or your low carb friendly sweetener of choice.

Cream – use double, heavy, whipping or any cream that you can whisk into thickened whipped cream.

Vanilla – to enhance the pure vanilla flavor of the ice cream.

You can enjoy the ice cream on it’s own to appreciate the simplicity and creaminess of the dessert or you could mix through or top your ice cream with your choice from the following low carb ingredients:

  • Berries – raspberries, strawberries, blueberries
  • Keto chocolate – chips, grated or chopped
  • Crumble over keto brownies or keto cookies
  • Drizzle over low carb chocolate sauce

  1. Start by separating the eggs into two bowls, with the whites going into a large bowl for whisking and the yolks into a second, small bowl to add into the ice cream mixture later.
  2. Using electric beaters, whisk the egg whites until thickened.
  3. Add in the stevia and whisk until you have glossy, thickened, meringue like egg whites.
  4. Set the whipped egg whites aside, wash and dry the beaters well, then pour the cream into another large bowl and whisk until you have thickened whipped cream, then set aside.
  5. Get the whipped egg white mixture back and then pour in the reserved egg yolks and vanilla.
  6. Fold through gently until fully combined.
  7. Add in the whipped cream and fold through until light, creamy and fully incorporated.
  8. Move the ice cream mixture into a freeze proof container that’s lined and greased, then place in the freezer to harden for at least a few hours.
  9. Once the ice cream has hardened and set to your liking, remove from the freezer and enjoy.

Zero Carb Snacks

July 27, 2021 by Easy Keto Living

Zero Carb Snacks – Ideas for the best low carb keto friendly no carb snack foods list – with a video showing you carb free no prep and foods to buy.

Zero Carb Snacks - Ideas for low carb keto friendly no carb snack foods list

Zero Carb Snacks

These zero carb snacks are the perfect keto foods to keep you nourished between meals, without blowing out your macros for the day.

I find that when I’m starting out with keto (or when I’m getting back into it after a break), I am hungry ALL THE TIME, until I become adapted to the low carb way of eating.

In those times, these foods are my lifeline. After a while though, I find that the high fat keto meals keep me full without the need for snacking, but these options still come in handy from time to time when I just need that little something extra to keep me going through the day and to help me achieve my low carb diet weight loss goals.

Cheese

Cheese Snacks

Cheese is one of my favorite zero carb snacks that’s high in healthy fats – you can choose from cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, feta, brie, parmesan cheese, cream cheese, cottage cheese or really any cheese you like. Simply enjoy by the square or in a snack platter with a couple of other options from this list.

Meat & Chicken – Zero Carb Snacks

Meat chicken and salami - zero carb snacks

There are so many meat snacks to choose from that make a delicious snack and have virtually no carbs.

You can go for leftovers from a previous meal and have a piece of chicken or slice of beef, lamb or ham. Or, opt for deli meat or lunch meat that just need the package to be opened – no prep at all to enjoy a protein rich zero carb snack.

Another perfect snack option is salami sticks, meat sticks or salami, which can have little to no grams of carbohydrates but often have sugars or carbs added, so read the nutrition label carefully.

Zero Carb Snacks - Keto foods to buy - Salami

Pork Rinds, Biltong & Beef Jerky

Jerky Biltong and Pork Rinds

Dried, salty, meaty protein rich snack options that you can find at stores that are keto diet friendly and can be enjoyed by the handful. Double check the nutrition panel and ingredients for hidden carbs and added sugar.

Fish & Seafood

Canned tuna and salmon

You can enjoy a can of tuna, salmon or sardines by the fork full or mix a couple of spoons of sour cream or mayo through for a speedy snack that’s naturally low in grams of carbs and high in grams of protein.

Hard Boiled Egg – Zero Carb Snacks

Hard Boiled Eggs

I like to keep a bowl full of hard boiled eggs to make a super quick grab and go carb free snack that’s a good source of protein.

I’ve also found already hard boiled and peeled hard boiled eggs at supermarkets lately which make an easy, instant store bought snack food that’s low in grams of net carbs.

Cucumber, Celery & Greens

Cucumber and greens

Cucumber, celery and greens such as spinach or lettuce can be enjoyed in a salad, lettuce wrap or mixed with other ketogenic diet friendly foods such as tuna, hard boiled egg or olive oil as a great way to enjoy a tasty snack.

Olives & Pickles

Zero Carb Snacks - Olives

Olives and Dill Pickles are carb free and can be turned into an antipasti platter or enjoyed by the spoon or hand full as a great snack.

Low Carb Nuts and Seeds

Nut and seed options

Quick grab and go low carb snack ideas include all kinds of nuts and seeds to satisfy your crunchy cravings. Choose from a healthy snack of cashew nuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds as well as nut butters such as peanut butter.

Just be sure to exercise portion control because total carbs can quickly add up, despite nuts and seeds being keto-friendly foods.

Jello or Jelly – Zero Carb Snacks

Jello or jelly - zero carb snacks

Sugar free jelly or jello make easy sweet snacks to satisfy your sweet tooth with a variety of flavors. Just read ingredients carefully and be sure you’re happy to include artificial sweeteners in your low-carb lifestyle, as they can cause an upset stomach in some people.

Tea & Coffee

Tea or coffee snack

A simple cup of tea or coffee can satisfy between meal hunger and keep you going until the next main meal with zero net carbs.
